Ed Zed Omega - Reimagining Education

This public media "authentic fiction" sought to crowdsource perspectives about education today. The Zed Omega teens, played by actors, "dropped out loud" from high school -- catalyzing open discussion about the structures and purpose of traditional education and its alternatives. The arc of each Zed Omega character was unscripted: they responded to ideas that people presented. The collaborative thought experiment and "interactive documentary" was live on social media during fall semester 2012. (-Learn more-) (-Credits-) (-Facebook-) (-Twitter-)

I joke back: “what do you expect? a high school dropout runs the co”* when Alan texted that Tumblr (yep, means this very site!) went down for an hour yesterday.
The first line of Crunchbase (Techcrunch database of tech startups) says: “David Karp is a high school dropout and the founder and CEO of Tumblr."  Continues, "…he briefly attended Bronx Science before dropping out at the age of 15 and being homeschooled. Karp began interning for animation producer Fred Seibert at 14.” — Zephyr
* And an inside joke since Nicole, Clare, Jeremy, Xavier, Lizabeth, and Edwina  are so over (=”zed omega’) education as we know it too. We love Tumblr and only recently discovered more about its founder.
